Yay for summer!!!!  Weston and I were just gifted a grill from our wonderful next door neighbour, and after cleaning it up and getting a new propane tank for it, we’re finally rocking!  So, without a whole lots of planning, we decided our innaugural meal should be a steak.  A nice grilled steak.  Mmmmmm.  But, what should we make to go with it? 

For the veggie, I decided to go with something that even kids would eat!  Asparagus bundles, wrapped with proscitto, drizzled liberally with olive oil and seasoned with salt and pepper, and then grilled. 


  • 1 bunch asparagus
  • 3 oz. prosciutto
  • salt and pepper
  • olive oil


Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.  Meanwhile, snap the woody stems off of the bottom of the asparagus spears. 

Once the water is at a rolling boil, carefully drop the asparagus into the water, and boil for 3 minutes.  Drain the water, and run under cold water to ensure easy handling of the blanched asparagus.

In groups of 2 or 3, season with salt and pepper, and then wrap with a thin ribbon of asparagus.  Repeat for the remaining asparagus.

Drizzle olive oil all over the finished bundles to ensure they don’t stick to the grates of the grill.

Place the bundles on the top rack of a preheated grill.  Remove the bundles when the prosciutto is crispy!
